Oriental Market

The Oriental Market at the corner of Puritan & Dixie
in West Palm Beach is a little Thai-owned grocery that
has home-made sauces, Thai basil and other hard to find
herbs and Asian specialties. They also have a carry-out
counter that cranks out a large assortment of home-style Thai dishes for about half the cost of any
restaurant in the area. No carved vegetable garnishes,
no beer or wine, no tables for that matter. The food
is damn good. Crispy spring rolls, pad thai flavorsome
with a nice al dente quality, tangy nam sod, tom ka gai
like Mom would make if she knew how. All with a nice
homey quality. For $25 they'll pack you a box full of
grub that will feed three hungry people. They'll also
spice and alter stuff any way you want, within reason.
Make sure to get some of the peanut sauce from the cooler.
