In an effort to make more of our own spices (trying to avoid additives), we're looking for a recommendation on an organic chili powder that's not too spicy. For example, we used this:
...but it has WAY too much heat. Almost as hot as pure cayenne powder.
Perhaps I'm confused on the peppers involved? Is pure chili powder simply really hot? We've always used a chili powder mix but to me I pick up lots of "chili" taste without much heat.
