I work in a small office and each year our tradition has been to close the office the last work day before Christmas and go out for the best lunch we can find. In past years the office has gone to No. 9 Park, The Federalist, Locke Ober, Aujourd'hui and Pignalle. We like to try something new each year. We like to be downtown where the atmosphere is festive. We decided we would return to Aujourd'hui but found out that they no longer offer a lunch. This year we've found it more difficult to find a restaurant offering an extravagant lunch. It seems that serving lunch may be a strike against a restaurant (Is there a perception that a restaurant offering more than one meal during the day not one of the best?). At any rate, my research has turned up the following options: No. 9 Park, The Federalist, Grill 23 (which I understand opens for lunch for two weeks during the holidays), Blu, Radius, Spire and Seasons.
What would your vote be and why? Do you have any suggestions? We're looking for a place where we can sit back for a few hours, be served like kings, and have our every gastronomical whim catered to. Thanks for any help you can provide.
