Opinions, please - Wasabi Sushi Bar, Johnston, RI

OK, I admit it...I'm far from knowledgable about sushi, although I've enjoyed it the few times we've indulged. So I'm thinking that Chowhounders are the best people to consult for an opinion.

My dining partner and I tried Wasabi Japanese Sushi Bar & Restaurant at 1369 Hartford Ave. in Johnston a few days ago and left very happy indeed. Being novices, we left our choices up to Haan (?), who I believe is the chef/owner. We started with 2 appetizers - a chicken dish and deepfried softshell crab. They then brought out a filet mignon roll, a cucumber/tuna roll, Haan's Special, and a couple of other dishes. Our favorite was the Haan's Special.

Prices were decent and the place was nicely clean. We arrived early and had great service. By the time we left, the entire place was packed with diners, many of whom seemed to be repeat customers.

Have any Chowhounders tried Wasabi? How does it compare to other sushi restaurants?
