My wife and I are coming up in May and I'm a bit torn on which restaurant so figured I'd solicit some opinions. We will be staying at the Ludlow Hotel in LES, and Saturday night we are seeing a show at the Newman Theater on Lafayette St. Since it doesn't start until 8, I am thinking we will get a drink and small bite beforehand and then do dinner after the show (closer to 11, I believe). So tempted to go to Noodle or Ssam bar for the pre-show...love their small plates and atmosphere...but we've already had their pork buns and have eated an Ma Peche. There are so many choices around NoHo that I'm simply unable to make up my mind. Of course, I'm hesitant to eat at Dirty French because I'd prefer not to head right back to our hotel after the show. Am I being ridiculous? Ideally the place will have great food and great atmosphere - but wondering if we might be too late for some of the places below?
Now that I've shared what I've considered, here are the other choices making this hard for me! Yes, I overthink.
Cherche Midi (been to probably all McNally restos, but seriously love them all!)
Public (I went once for Sunday dinner, wife has never been)
I considered trekking up to Cosme, but she wasn't all that thrilled with what she had read...and I think it's just too far.
For the afternoon - I'm tempted to try some of the spots listed on here (which could effectively cancel out any Momofuku designs we have):
