My husband and I will be first time visitors to New York (Manhattan) at the end of October. We are from So. Calif. and have received some recommendations from our Calif. friends of places we "must" try. We are kind of deli barren in the area we live in and have been known to travel a little distance for a pastrami, corned beef or brisket sandwich. These are some of the recs......Carnegie Deli (have to try!), Lomela in Little Italy, Carmines on 44th, Rao's and Patsy's. Other than those, I also have a Juniors Deli cookbook. It boasts of it's cheesecake. Is it worth the trip and where exactly is Juniors. We have simple tastes and love just good neighborhood foods. Thanks for any guidance you can give. P.S. What about the deli in the Milford Plaza hotel if anyone knows. Thanx again.
