An open thankyou letter

fladd | Aug 11, 2002 12:46 AM

This is to follow up on a thread on the Site Talk board, where I mentioned that on a couple of occasions, I've emailed a poster privately to thank him or her for a particularly good suggestion. It was suggested that it would be a better idea to do that publicly so that other hounds would get positive feedback on a good tip.

The thankyou letter that stands out in particular was a response to the suggestion to check out Mahabazaar.com. I found a very decent selection of Indian ingredients at reasonable prices, but what made me a customer for life was when I contacted them to ask where I could find an idli pan (not so easy to find in the wilds of New Hampshire), they wrote back within a day to say that they had no idea where I could find one online, but that if I had no luck, let them know and they'd send "the boy" around the corner to pick one up and ship it to me at cost.

I can't remember at the moment who made the original suggestion, but thank you again!
