Well, there are a few things that drive me crazy about residential refrigerators. Nothing seems to be changing so I thought I'd post here in the hope that I get heard.
First - the ratio between refrigerator and freezer is wrong for the modern household. I would like to have about as much freezer space as refrigerator space (indeed, I could buy a separate freezer but that would be excessive). Many ingredients stay fresh longer when frozen (nuts, flours, beans, you name it). I just need a lot of space to freeze stuff and even large fridges have puny freezers.
Second - there are so many unecessary compartments in the fridge that it's hard to fit anything in. Commercial fridges have adjustable shelving - makes a lot of sense if you need to fit something big in your fridge. All these arbitrary crisping drawers don't seem to accomplish much besides wasting space.
Third, there should probably be a way to pull a shelf out to get to the back of it easily.
That's all I can think of for now.
