I have a few cuisines/dishes that I really, really miss living in South Florida. Believe me, I'm not starving. I eat plenty well, but I wish someone would open up a few of these kinds of joints:
Or maybe I missed something and you can help me find these....
-Bon Chon Chicken (Korean fried spicy wings, kinda fast-food)
-Chinese- not super authentic, just CONSISTENT, New York Style in PBC with sticky ribs, homemade noodle dishes, moo-shu, hot and sour soup and shrimp with lobster sauce. (I had to add this, but don't even bother sending me anywhere, everywhere is feh)
-Really, really authentic shrimp/oyster po-boys on perfect bread and grilled oysters. I've been to plenty of bbq/smoke joints here, no one delivers this properly (IMHO),,,,
-A huge bucket of Steamers
-A really, really good coffee shop (not a diner) where there is a killer short order cook for breakfast and burgers and a kitchen that puts out great tuna, BLT's and real turkey in addition to the flat-top menu. Some potato/macaroni/cole slaw would be welcome too
-A bakery that smells like a bakery, filled with philly fluff, black and whites and marble cakes. They also could sell rye bread, kaiser rolls and layer cakes for occasions
