My wife and I are onion soup fanatics and have found out that the quality of the soup in the restaurants we have been dining in has been less than satisfactory. Not all of them have been in Manhattan (Bay Head, NJ and Saratoga Springs, NY as well), but even the ones in Manhattan have been insipid. Some are using croutons instead of bread as the topping. Sacre bleu!
