Oneida Nylon Slotted Turner: Fail

Muddirtt | Apr 2, 2014 05:48 PM

I've become a big fan of Oneida stainless steel stuff. Locally available at the Wal Mart, and quality 18/10 stainless steel. I can't wait to spend $100-$150 on 2 or 3 eating utensil sets.

However... I recently bought the nylon turner with a stainless handle to match my full stainless turner. I melted the tip simply by removing over-easy eggs on cast iron and scraping the one or two bits left in the pan -- All a few seconds worth of contact -- On low-medium heat over a gas burner.

What a POS. The cheap generic nylon stuff doesn't even do that. I guess I'll be looking at a quality silicone one to go with my stainless, wooden, and bamboo turners.

Pics included here. I'll be returning this nylon one. Matching stainless one in pic also which is built like a tank.
