Okay, Erica Marcus, Stuartlafonda, ideabaker, Scott R., and Robinsilver have I got news for you! Went to Fortune Asian Bistro tonite and I'm really excited. Have you EVER seen any of the following on a Chinese menu in Nassau County?
DOUBLE COOKED SLICED PORK BELLY W. CHILI & LEEKS
BRAISED SILKY TOFU W. CHILI & MINCED PORK (MAPO TOFU, I THINK)
DAN DAN NOODLES
HOUSE SPECIAL PORK SHOULDER W. SEASONAL GREEN
BRAISED FISH BELLY WITH BROWN SAUCE
SLICED BEEF TENDON W. ROASTED CHILI
And the list of dishes goes on and on. In addition there are Japanese and Thai dishes. Sushi, too. We went with another couple who are really conservative so we had to restrain our ordering. But we did order CRISPY SLICE LAMB FILLETS W. CHILI CUMIN. Now I've had that dish at Little Pepper and the sandwich from the Xian stand in the Main St. basement mall. While tonites version would have come in third place, in fairness we asked it be toned down in deference to our friends. We also had Pad Thai...terrible, too, too sweet. We're definitely going back and will be trying more dishes. Listen, this is the closest thing to Flushing I've seen in these parts I my thirty years in NC. I urge any and all to give this place a shot so it can survive!
Imagine, a Chinese restaurant you can go to other than the Orient!
