We decided to try another Charles Yu suggestion and went for the live Alaskian King Crab 4 ways at O'Mei last night. My parents were in town and they had the crab 4 ways last year while in Vancouver. Both were impressed with the flavours of all the dishes, except my mom would've preferred the fried rice dish to include the crab shell w/ all the brains for added flavour. The only crab dish I didn't include in the photos was the soup. The crab legs were cooked it in 2 different ways, one with fried garlic and another without. Most of us preferred it without the garlic, as the crab itself was very fresh. Final price for the crab alone was $325 for a 10 lb crab. It was more than enough for our table of 6 adults and 4 little kids.
We also ordered a few extra dishes. The black bean stir fried beef tenderloin had real tenderloin in it. The sweet n sour pork was perfect, and the king mushroom w/ snow peas was spot on as well.
The 3 free desserts were fantastic as usual. I had to include one photo of my 2.5 yr old daughter licking the sesame filling from the soup balls dessert. She was doing this all night with all the dishes.
