First full 'chow-day' in Singapore: Let the ' Human Foie Gras Fattening Process ' begin!
In anticipation of the impending non-stop fattening process these coming days, my wife and I started our first full day in Singapore by skipping breakfast. Rather, we head over to nearby 'Cold Storage' supermarket in Somerset 131 and bought some fruits to munch on instead.
At noon, we were picked up by my wife's cousin at the hotel and drove to nearby 'Tatsuya', one of Singapore's finer Japanese restaurant in the Goodwood Hotel for a sumptuous Omakase lunch. Since the head chef Sasaki - san knows both my wife's cousin and ex-hound 'Fourseasons' in person ( I mentioned his name to him ), we were subsequently given very special personal attention and service by the chef himself.
The tasting menu comprises of a never-ending array of appetizers, salads, prIstine fresh Sashimi, Sushis ( both regular Edo Nigiri and Aburi style ), soups...etc. Just when we thought we had enough and were full to the hilt, the chef presented us with a bowl of Wagyu A5 beef rice! Are you kidding me?
Overall, the food was refined, delicious, containing some pretty exotic and high-end ingredients and artfully plated. From the counter display, one could see the varied and huge selection of pristine fresh fish and seafood, most of which were flown to the island directly from Japan.
Man! After this first sumptuous meal, we felt like a couple of geese on a Foie Gras forced fed trail! My first thought was that, I need to have my liver check for stiffness and fattiness when I get back to Hong Kong! Ha!!
Chef Sasaki San finishing off what he was doing before coming over to greet us.

Abalone or Awabi sashimi. either way you address it, it was delicious!
Miso Clam Soup
A surprising bowl of egg and rice topped with A5 Wagyu beef to take us over the top...and lots of burping!
