It just scares me. I've eaten a lot of sushi, but I'm haven't taken that step. I normally order a simple 'sushi deluxe' and maybe a few other pieces. There is nothing I don't like (except chefs that cut large pieces), and I enjoy sitting at the bar. I am afraid that there is something that I'm not doing right- some small issue of etiquette, not recognizing something about a piece of fish, etc- that will expose me as not being an expert. Then, I feel like the chef can take advantage of by not giving me the best stuff or giving me $35 dollars worth of fish for $50. Does this kind of thing happen or am I just paranoid?
