Omakase Etiquette / Sushi Yasuda

Sandeep | Oct 4, 2005 11:33 AM

I'm going to Sushi Yasuda tonight and have booked for the sushi counter in front of Yasuda san himself. I want to order omakase but ideally I want some kind of abridged/reduced omakase as (a) I don't want to break the bank and (b) I have a medium size appetite.

Does anyone know if Yasuda san is relaxed about people asking for a limited omakase or asking to stick to a particular budget because some sushi chefs would probably take offence to such a request and in other places such as Masa or Urasawa you have no option but to order the full blown fixed [astronomical] price omakase.
