Being an olive aficionado, I discovered a fantastic variety at Whole Foods. The olive is called "Alphonso" and is marinated in a red wine vinegar that gives it a very strong taste. Unfortunately, the olives at Whole Foods run in the $9-$10 a pound range.

I was in Boston about a month ago, and lo and behold, I run into a street vendor at the Haymarket Produce area who sold me the exact same olive for about half of what I pay at Whole Foods!

The local Italian delis don't carry this olive. Does anyone know where I can find them? I have to believe that they will be cheaper than what I'm paying now.
