Olive Picking in Fresno?

BananaBirkLarsen | Oct 3, 2011 07:01 PM

I hear tell that there are a number of olive trees on city property around the Sunnyside district that are well watered and are open for public picking. I have also heard that someone goes around during olive season with a tree shaker and knocks down all the olives for easy picking.

Anyone out there have more information on this? Have the trees been shaken yet? If not, does anyone know when they will be shaken? I would love to try my hand at curing olives this year and have heard that olive season typically lasts from September to late November.
