And another review...Last night we went to Ana Sortun's place, because we wanted to eat somewhere outside, fairly quiet. Great choice. The patio is so cozy and nicely done with plants, granite tables etc.
Had glasses of wine and some appetizers, fried mussels (which I had been daydreaming about since I went here last year) at the beginning. These are so light, almost like tempura, with bits of hot peppers and a creamy sauce over them. Then tamarind glazed piece of beef, fell apart when fork touched it. Served with a tabbouleh-like salad. Delicious, we scraped the plate.
Tried the 3-cheeses, all were wonderful, the great hill blue had real balsamic on it. Another plate scraper with the fresh bread! And finally, a salad I can't remember the name of, but had toasted vermicelli, chick peas, and toasted orange vinagrette. It was very, very good. Waitress did a great job.
The bill was quite large, but then again, 5 glasses of wine at 8$ each adds up to: 95 bucks with tip. It was worth it, tho.....(Large Grin)
