Older jar of tamarind concentrate -- can I use it?

Hi. I'm making Pad Thai and am using tamarind concentrate instead of a block of tamarind. I've had this jar for a while. And by a while, I mean a whiiiiiile. It looks fine (no mold), tastes fine to me, although I don't know exactly what it's supposed to taste like. But it doesn't taste spoiled or fermented.

Can I use it?
