I used to find them at a gas station in Lancaster ontario (first town after the border) but the guy doesn't sell them anymore. Thanks for the help, they are soo good (of course... they're 30% fat).
Have you tried e-mailing the company? They might be available elsewhere nearby. http://www.olgrandadssnacks.com/
You are a better human being than I am. I rarely eat chips, but will occasionally succumb to a bag (hopefully half a bag or less, shared with friends) of Métro Irresistibles chips (fried in sunflower oil). I know that even the most natural ones aren't good for health, but certainly don't eat them every week. I don't like sweets, but I do love salty things.
I have tasted the chips mentioned in this thread, but still find the Irresitibles better, if only because of the better oil, and few artificial flavourings. But they still aren't a health food. Tonight I'm having a virtuous sauté of fine green beans, garlic, a little red onion and ripe local tomatoes, with some poached turkey meat from making a soup. But nobody is always perfectly salubrious!
It has less to do with healthy eating for me. Back in the autumn of 69 I had an unfortunate and traumatic incident in Ville St Pierre involving fried potatoes. After all this time, I am only starting to get over it, and even look at chips and think about them. All the kings horses, and all the king's men couldn't put me together again. Once cycling through old Montreal, I saw a cigar store Indian and had a panic attack because it reminded me of Yum Yums. Lagatta. now you know.
