Okinawa Restaurant in Odenton

RL | Jan 13, 2005 02:01 PM

I finally went to this place and it was open. The interior didn't appear as nice as most of the other korean restaurants that I've been to. They have a several tables with a cooktop, they have a sushi bar, and they also have an enclosed smoking area.

We ordered the kalbi, bulgogi, several sushi rolls, bibimbap, and udon noodle soup. We had the BBQ meats cooked inside so that we wouldn't smell like the food. I should not have ordered the sushi rolls, b/c as soon as the waiter took our order, he quickly came back with 2 free cali rolls on the house. The owner of the restaurant came around later to greet everyone who was there eating.

Six panchan dishes were served and they were typical in quality of the other places that I've eaten at (ie. sorak, hee been, etc.). The noodle soup came out piping hot. The BBQ looked good, but the kalbi was a bit overcooked. The sushi rolls were ok, but a bit soggy. The best part of the evening was the great bulgogi and the dolsot bibombap. Both had great flavor.
