Oil-seasoning copper cookware

Computta | Apr 24, 2017 07:17 PM

Has anyone ever tried coating the outside of a copper (tin lined) pot with some kind of oil to prevent it form forming a patina? I know some people love patinas but I'm the bright copper kind of guy.

Will this hurt the copper or turn the oil film into black polymers (like in cast iron seasoning) and make it look even less handsome than dull patina?
