Odeon getting better? Nope

Michael | Jan 10, 2005 10:58 AM

I noticed a few comments on this board the past week or so saying the quality of the food at Odeon has gone up. Well, after not being able to eat at Landmarc (closed till today for renovations) or Le Zinc (private party) on Saturday evening, we gave Odeon a shot.

Note, we live fairly close and eat at Odeon regularly during warmer weather, but usually just simple burgers, sandwiches, etc outside with our dogs.

The food Saturday night was a disgrace:

Sweet Maine shrimp special: Slimy and tasteless.
Fried Calamari: Tender but sitting in a pool of oil.
Mussels: Broth way too salty (and I like salt) and the mussels were way undercooked (and I like my shellfish minimally cooked).
Tuna "eggroll": Adequate. Nothing special.

Ice Cream Sundae: Delicious.

At the end of the meal (which ran us about $210, including three cocktails and a bottle of wine) I said that I easily could have sent both courses back to the kitchen. We both felt completely ripped off.

Nuff said.
