Ode to Waverly Market/Great food in Boston

I am just wrapping up a great trip back home to Framingham, but before I get to what I ate, first, what I didn't. I somehow forgot to go to Waverly Market in Framingham for one of the best sandwhiches ever. This place is amazing, and all those in search of great Italian subs should go there as fast as possible. But even better then the italian is a sandwhich of their homemade porchetta (sp?). This is pure food heaven. A perfect combination of spicy meat, veggies, and waverly's sub dressing. Perhaps I could get one for breakfast?

Anyway, on to what I ate: First, thanks to galleygirl, limster, etc for recs at Taiwan Cafe. What a great restaurant. We had the beef with watercress, eggplant with basil, clams with basil, salt and pepper pork and xiao long bao. Everything was superb. Although those xiao are very very big.

Next night was a great veal rib roast from bread and circus cooked by my mother with a lovely marsala pan sauce made by me.

Third night was Perdix. What a great restaurant. I started with a special salad of two U-8 shrimp and some greens with feta. Then an amazing trout on a black eye pea salad. Both decious were delicious. Perfectly spices, with great flavors in every mouthful. Never got tired of it. Only disapointment was dessert. There chocolate torte just isn't as good as they say it is. Stick with the apple cobbler.

Fourth night was popcorn a tthe movie (what can you do?)

Fifth night (tonight) was oysters at B&G. Great oysters and the lobster BLT was delicious as well, although I think i would stick with the lobster roll next time, simply because I love lobster. The butterscotch pudding was also excellent.

So all in all, a great few days, even without the best sub on earth.
