Odd kitchen habits

I was cooking at my brothers house for Christmas, and while he was in the kitchen with me he asked me, "Why on earth do you walk like that in the kitchen?" I thought about it, and realized that when I'm in the kitchen, but only then, I scoot my feet along the floor, rather than just taking normal steps. I said I have never really thought about it. Being a scientist, he's very analytical, and made me talk about it until we figured out why.

Turns out, when I cook at home I have two cats that are constantly under my feet in the kitchen. They don't beg for people food, they just know that if I'm in the kitchen sometimes I give them food, so they're just consistently very optimistic.

Curious if anyone else has odd kitchen habits that others have noticed.
