New -- but odd -- Ave. C cafe

Was wandering through the East Village last night and stumbled upon a little new cafe on 3rd St. and Ave. C. Grungy hipster design, right? Nope. Vienna Cafe has been remodeled to look like someone's formal living room, rich red laquer on the walls and ceiling with lots of gold mouldings. Cute. Eidth Piaf on the stereo. Run by a very French woman who is quite genial. Great coffee and desserts that she's obviously buying from a wholesaler (some clearly from Balthazar Bakery). Sandwiches and salads too. Looks like a nice place to hang out.
