I knew I forgot something! Friend and I had dinner there last week -
white bean & kale soup (just fantastic!)
sauteed squid topped with polenta cubes: done in a creamy tomato-based sauce, squid flavor seemed a bit too strong (?). The sauce was very rich, great to sop up with the soft bread.
Clams in white wine/garlic/olive oil - just perfect! We could have sipped the broth like soup it was so good.
Plate of tomatoes, fresh cheese and ham. I loved this dish at Atasca and I'm happy to see it on the menu here. Tomatoes tasted farm-fresh and the ham was absolutely divine. So glad it was served nearer to room temperature than cold. Why cover this dish with mountains of dried parsley, though?
Also had a great Portuguese Muscat that was quite nice. Dry and flavorful and a bargain at about $6.50 or so.
2 soups, 3 apps, 1 glass of wine was about $35 pre-tip IIRC. There was only one other party during our visit - at about 8pm or so on a Tuesday night. For the quality and value, O'Cantinho should be a lot busier.
