Man, what a waste of $9 for lunch.
I was in the area and remembered something about it mentioned here.
As I stood in line looking at the menu board, I was pleased that they had quite a bit "whiteboy" bbq but disappointed that you couldn't get the more soul food fare. Oh well, it smells good and there are people here.
I ordered a tri-tip sammy, spicy beans and potato salad. Then it goes south.
The order came up quickly and I quickly ran out and grabbed a table as I was hungry.
The tri-tip was tough. Knife tough. The bbq sauce was canned and barely spread on the store bought roll. Disappointing.
Then I tried the potato salad, because that at least looked homemade. Horrible. Mayo, maybe a small chunk of boiled egg, no spice, salt, pepper onion or any other flavors. Potato and mayo. I know a good southern potato salad is equal count potato to egg, but the egg was barely visable.
The only savior of this meal was the spicy beans. They were passable, barely. But after the rest of the meal, they got to shine like a supastar.
I think the dog will get the leftovers.
