I'm obsessed with the Starbucks snowman cookies. Anyone have a recipe that tastes similar??

Starbucks Cookies

I'm addicted. This is a problem.

They don't taste like the usual sugar cookies... I'm trying to find a similar tasting recipe. Thanks!

They're not sugar cookies, they are shortbread and the frosting is white chocolate. The long list of ingredients is here, looks like a basic shortbread with more margarine than butter and a few assorted preservatives...

I wonder if it's just plain white chocolate or if there's other stuff mixed in like powdered sugar etc.

I love these cookies, too, and I was pretty successful at recreating them. I used this recipe http://www.food.com/recipe/shortbread... it's basically a shortbread recipe with a little baking powder so they are a little lighter textured. For the icing I used Ghirardelli's while melting chips, melt them according to the directions, but thin it out with a tbl or two of melted shortening, so the mixture is easily spreadable. Melt a few chocolate chips into some of the icing for the hats, and tint it with coloring gels for the nose, scarf and buttons. I have a cookie cutter that looks exactly like the Starbucks snowman, but maybe 2/3 the size, so they were perfect. I probably got it at michaels.
