I'd seen some discussion here on preparing oatmeal overnight and thought I'd give it a shot, with most unfortunate results. Can't remember now what recipe I followed (no added sugar, no fruit or cinnamon), but it was supposed to cook for 8 hours on Low. I started it before going to bed around 11:00 p.m. and, when my husband got up at 6:00 a.m., it was ultra-thick and had burnt and stuck to the sides of the crockpot. (I did follow the instructions to cover the inside with nonstick spray. So much for Pam.)
My cooker has three settings: Keep Warm, Low and High. Would it have worked successfully on Keep Warm, do you think?
Any advice would be appreciated. It would be so nice to wake up to hot oatmeal, rather than fussing with it in the morning.
