We looked at the Oakland magazine and made a reservation at Trattoria La Siciliana, 2993 College Ave, Berkeley. This was listed as the best Italian in the Bay Area, They are right.
There were four of us; we ordered mostly specials, pork shoulder, rib eye, sausage, and porcini ravioli. We ordered a sampler antipasti. We had 2 bottles of wine, total $175 with a $30 tip. Food is inexpensive, and wine reasonable.
The waiters were great, fun, helpful. Food did not come out at the same time, but we didn't really care. It was a great atmosphere. Laid back, but we were well cared for.
The food was wonderful. Tasty, hot, exciting. The flavors were perfection., How did I live in this area for 8 years and not know about this place? I will be back soon, and often.
[NOTE: We've corrected a typo on the bill total. -- THE CHOWHOUND TEAM ]
