Oakland Chinatown Lunch Series -- Thursday July 29

Joel Teller | Jul 22, 2004 09:26 PM

The East-West Chinatown civil unrest continues. This is #6 in the Oakland offerings.
Thursday July 29 at noon

We will do Vietnamese this time. The restaurant is a hole-in-the-wall. Yet the menu lists 123 items, some familiar ("bun", banh", pho, seven courses of beef, rice plates) but I yearn for the exotic: "roasted sliced raw calf (???)", "whole roasted catfish with crispy skin." We'll skip the three frog dishes ("tastes like chicken"). Let's try the grilled deer, or grilled wild pig.
