I lived on Oahu for eight years, but have not been back since 2002. I happen to be going back for a business trip at the end of October. We’ll be a group of four, and we’ll be staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We will probably have only Friday night for a possible dinner.
Where can people suggest we might go for really good food that is not high-end or low-end? We are not trying to impress clients with this dinner, it's for us. It would also be very nice if the place was a bit unique and the service is considered consistently excellent.
(A Hawaiian uniqueness if you know what I mean: example: Banh Mi on a croissant from BALE or raw meat at an AYCE Korean BBQ. This is just off the top of my head, and not really where I’m going with this post, but I’ve never seen these two things on the mainland, which I guess is what I mean by unique (meaning we don't see it here) but this is secondary as food is the most important factor)
We will have a car, but will be limited in our time.
Lots of suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
