nytimes reliance on chowhound

i always notice stuff in the food section that eerily echo stuff from chowhound. like eric asimov's piece about roasted chicken from garden of eden this week after a recent discussion here about the best takeout roasted chicken where garden of eden was distinctly mentioned.

i know that food writers and chefs and other professionals post here from time to time, but i was wondering about the extent of their use of the information on this site. do writers post here under pseudonyms as research for their pieces? that wouldn't bother me or anything; just curious.
