Interesting article on different "hot dog cultures" in today's Times. It sets out promisingly with "any serious discussion of hot dogs must begin in Chicago." The particular Chicago recs aren't very comprehensive (Fluky's, Superdawg and Gold Coast) since the author's attitude is that the Chicago dog has such a "winning combination of ingredients" that it's hard to go wrong.
My question--he states that Gold Coast Dogs has closed, and then lists a branch at 2 North Riverside Plaza (is that the metra station?). I assume he means that the location off Chicago Avenue has closed. There's also one in Old Orchard. But there is also a sign for Gold Coast dogs on Wabash around Monroe or Madison. Has anyone been in there? How is it?
