NYE in New Orleans - celebration suggestions

kingmelaniea | Nov 21, 201905:57 AM     9

Hi everyone - first time poster here! Going to New Orleans for the first time ever with my husband for the week after Christmas which means we’ll be there for New Year’s Eve celebrations.

I’d appreciate some direction on what to do that night as online there are about a million options. For context, we're mid-40s, no kids, love travel and food and aren’t huge party animals (but are social!). But if it’s a must see to go to Jackson Square or the Dick Clark special or Bourbon Street, please chime in. Any tips on safety for that night would be appreciated. We’ll be staying at the Monteleone so pretty close to any action. I’m a major food lover and we enjoy travelling.

We are toying with the idea of a very nice dinner and then seeing fireworks and party in the FQ for the countdown, going to a club to hear music, and are open to other ideas!

Thank you in advance for your help!
