I have been tasked with making dessert for a New Year's Eve dinner party. The host is serving surf and turf. Since steak and lobster are both rich, I want to stay away from heavy, rich desserts... so probably something not chocolate. I made Ile Flottante for this gang last year and it went over well. Maybe poached pears or a citrus mousse?
Can anyone suggest elegant special-occasion desserts that would go well after a a rich meal?
