NYC sis treating younger bro (me) to lunch--high end or not?

caputo 00 | Aug 10, 200512:04 PM     10

hello, my sister from nyc is visiting the bay area for a wedding and we have arranged a group therapy session in mtn. view on the morning of aug 25th. afterwards, she has decided to treat me to lunch at any price range as long as it's not too far from mtn. view. so i am asking for recommendations. i have never been to anywhere "high end", but i don't think any place would really be open for lunch. here are some of the places i am considering that i know that are open for lunch and would be unique to the bay area: the slanted door (plus i don't think she's ever been to the new ferry building), chez panisse cafe, tadich grill, and maybe if she is willing to do dinner, manresa for a "higher end" experience, that seems to be uniquely spanish/med/cal cuisine. any thoughts and recommendations would be appreciated, and since i don't know the south bay that well, recommendations in that area would also be helpful. thanks.
