gonna be passing through philly thursday evening and am contemplating a meal either around 6pm or 11pm. use of a car, traveling alone, could go with/without booze (recs for a wine store if a BYO is indicated would be appreciated). kind of in between a rock an a hard place concerning cuisines... i am turned off by flesh foods very often (although i had wild boar for dinner), and at the same time find mock meats an abomination. having been to philly once, my best culinary experiences that week were veg options at a bibimbop stand outside temple university's student center - meaning i am open to asian (or anything else as long as it's worth the trek) although please by all means move beyond asian, especially if there are spectacular eats in the area. partial to fresh, local, seasonal. as far as price, i am open to all ranges with the exception of the extravagant - hardly merits the expense in my experience. i have checked the posted threads on the top page (since september).
