I've just learned I'm taking a two-day business trip to Houston, and would love some foodie guidance. I'm not looking for truffle foam or savory ice creams -- up to my eyeballs with that stuff in NYC. Can you guys tell me what not to miss in Houston if you want to know what Texas cooking (if that's not too broad a term) is? I.E., if you were away from town for a year, where would you go first upon returning? I'm inclined to comfort food -- BBQ, chili, chicken fried steak, low-brow gulf seafood -- but I don't want to confine myself through my outsider's perception. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
