My brother just visited my in NY and fell in love with the Chicken and Rice available at the Halal street carts. Since he doesn't live in NY, I thought I'd do some research to come up with a recipe for him. I think seasonings are pretty simple... maybe a little cumin and cardamom? Tiny bit of nutmeg maybe? There's usually a piece of cardamom in the accompanying rice.
Also, I'm not sure if this dish is kind of a generic dish in the Middle East, or if it belongs to one ethnicity or another (maybe Afghani?).
Any help trying to re-create this dish and/or any background info is greatly appreciated!
