NY Hound Not Kidding Around

guttergourmet | Aug 30, 200512:43 PM     9

Well I just got back. Afraid to get on the scale but worth it. In order of preference we (the wife and I) loved Gary Danko, Fleur de Lys, La Folie, Piperade, Boulevard and Aquerello. Also wished I could move in to the Ferry Building. Loved the Mijita pescado taco, the Taylor ahi burger, hog island oyster, slanted door take out, cow girl for cheese. Yank sing was good but You's dim sum on Stockton was better. Became a regular at Swan Oyster Depot (they even honked the horn at me when the delivery truck passed me on the street one day). In the great banh mi debate I liked Saigon with Wrap Delight second and Baguette Express a close third. I ordered way too much food at La Taqueria-chorizo burrito, carnes and carnes asada tacos (all with extra carnes). Tomasso's pizza ranked with the best of NY/New Haven. Aliota for crab even though it wasn't the season.
