NY Chowhound visiting LA

brooklynmasala | Mar 5, 200605:59 AM

Hi, I am visiting LA from Brooklyn with my husband and 2.5 year old. We are staying near the Disney theater in downtown LA and plan to check out West Hollywood, Hollywood and SilverLake areas. We are definitely going to the Farmer's Market.

I have been scanning the boards but it can be hard to figure out where restaurants are located when you are not familiar with a city ( I have never been to LA).

We definitely plan on trying In-n-Out as soon as we land.

Some questions as we get closer to the trip -

Can we go for a drink EARLY at the Chateau Marmont bar with a well behaved toddler? I love the history and would love to have a quick drink there just to experience it.

Here are the restaurants I have collected from this board. Are there any recs for good restaurants (with food that a toddler would eat such as rice, pasta and chicken - that are not expensive? We lean towrds Korean, Japanese especially izakaya, (defitely not Thai food) but also enjoy cafe food such as paninis and great salads. Are any of the resturants I have listed below, not a great idea with a toddler (or really expensive). THanks - I am really looking forward to FINALLY visiting your city!
