Just this week or so has opened Nuestra Cocina, at SE 23rd and Division. Not your father's taqueria, it is Mexican food more in the elaborate mold (think Azul; think Taq. Nueve). I dropped in last night just for a nosh, sat at the counter, and had the chicharrons (which came with two homemade salsas, and they volunteered a third), and an ensalada de espinancas (that's how they spelled it). It was all quite tasty; I would have liked to try other parts of the menu and, eventually, will. I eschewed dessert, but the list looked tempting. I had a Spanish red that they sold by the glass; decent and, for $4.75, a HUGE pour (I'm guessing 6 oz. rather than the ordinary 4 oz.). I look forward to giving it another try, and my fellow (or fella) SE denizens might drop in. Though not Lauro, it was doing a hopping business for a Wed nite for an unsung new establishment.
