Novice baker needs birthday cake help.

Hi-I'm attempting to make my daughter's 1st bday cake. I'm making the Wilton 3D standup bunny which I then want to put on top of a sheet cake. I think we're going to have around 50 people (I know, crazy)and I want to serve good size pieces. The bunny doesn't serve very many. What size sheet cake pan should I buy? Also, I can only find 2in pans (Wilton talks about 3 in pans, but doesn't sell them on their website and another site said they were discontinued). Anyway, if I make a cake in a 2in pan, does that mean I have to make 2 and make a layer cake in order for it to be substantial enough? I'm really nervous about being able to make a layer cake look good! And, one last question...I'm not venturing into homemade cake this time, so once you help me figure out what size pan I need, can you also help me figure out how many boxes of cake mix I need? THANK YOU so much to anyone who can help me.
