Lan'i was well worth the visit. Stayed at the Manele Bay Hotel (WOW!) - just gorgeous & very peaceful & relaxing - great snorkelling!

2 restaurants there - weak on breakfast buffet & lunch only at poolside grill, but dinners exceptional - just very formal. Had dinner at Henry Clay's in town 1 night - felt very overpriced for what it is, but maybe we ordered wrong. Heard later the ribs are incredible, but my pitiful shrimp appetizer with 4 shrivelled little things in a very wierd sause was less than impressive. Lodge at Koele dining room looked gorgeous & very romantic, but not with an 11 year old in tow, so we passed.

Best bet was with the golf club house at Manele - great lunch (fresh fish sandwich best I've ever had) and dinners were just fantastic. Sit outdoors on patio overlooking Manele Bay - just spectacular views, great, but relaxed service, nice wine list & very very good American/ Hawaiian 'Comfort' food, as the chef calls it - Lobster Pot Pie (yumm), tomato & gorgonzola & balsamic salad I had 2 nights in a row, excellent fish, etc. Don't miss this restaurant - refreshing change of pace & a wonderful find.
