A note on LA Times Herb article

LA Times food section yesterday ran a story on Herblife and Nature's Pagoda. The highlight of the article were the slow-cooked soups, black bone chicken or turtle meat with lots of medicinal herbs.

These are also available at 888 seafood in rosemead on Valley. They were only in Chinese on the menu last time I went, but ask the server if they have the black-bone chicken or turtle slow cook soups. They come in individual portions. Wolfberry, ginseng, astragalus, etc. Different herbs with different meats. I think they had 3 or 4 varieties.

Remember as well, you may be sensitive to some of these herbs and pregnant women shouldn't be taking them without some guidance, some herbs are abortifacents as well.
