I think I'm headed to northern Thailand for the first time. My original thought was a week's cooking class in Chiang Mai, then a week travelling in Nan or Loei provinces. But the more I read, the more time I want to spend in Nan and Loei and between the two, but I don't want to sacrifice the cooking time.
So any ideas for how I might find a cooking class in Nan? Or a contact there with whom I could try to arrange something ad hoc? What about in Chiang Khan?I don't expect either is set up for this kind of thing, but I'd love to try, and I really want to focus on is northern food and Issan food.
If not, I'd welcome recs for cooking classes in Chiang Mai, and food recs for Nan or the towns on Rt 211 in northern Loei. (Not sure yet if I can do both, though). Thanks.
