Saturday, June 4, is National Cheese Day so I had to share something on the Cheese board to mark the day.

These photos are from a tasting of California North Coast cheese I had the opportunity to try in May 2015 in Crescent City. The selections are from Sonoma, Humboldt, Mendocino and Del Norte counties with a few interlopers from the other side of the Oregon border.

The only problem we had was the limited amount of time to sample and enjoy. This was the break for a food policy meeting and the organizers had some difficulty getting us to back to work. The chair asked a few times, "Back away from the cheese...", and finally had her assistants physically remove the cheese from the room. I confess to being one of the malingerers.
